Question:
Street Pilot X popped onto the scene in 2004. How has the ride been so far?
DJ:
It's been fun for the most part. We've accomplished a lot, but we are humble enough to realize that our goals list is a long one. We have a Mountain to climb, and there is always room for improvement.
Question:
The make up of Street Pilot X is very unique. Can you tell us about it?
DJ:
Well Street Pilot X is actually a make up of two departments that both cater to the custom auto culture. We're an Auto Club and an Entertainment team. First there is our Auto Club, which is the older of the two departments. The SPX Auto Club is an award winning make up of Import, Domestic, Cars, Trucks, Luxury SUVs, and Bikes. Our Auto Club has already accomplished so much and we are still having tons of fun building our rides. We love this stuff!
Question:
That's pretty cool! An Auto Club / Entertainment Production Hybrid. What made you come up with that combination?
DJ:
Well, we realize that if you are striving to be a successful team in today's custom auto world, the FIRST thing you'd better realize is that being one dimensional is NOT going to get the job done. I personally have seen so many one dimensional teams sooner or later drop out because they had nothing more to offer. No creativity or originality what so ever. It's like a one page story... Finish that one page and the story is over. The more successful teams have a lot of looks and dimensions to their make up. They're an attraction, and they're marketable. That's the path Street Pilot X takes and it works well for us. It gives us a future.
Question:
You did mention the Entertainment Team. Tell us about that Department?
DJ:
The Street Pilot X Entertainment team is made up of the SPX Candy Girls, which is the name of our models and dancing girl's team. We also have two team Disc Jockeys. We set up what we call Party Booths at most of the larger shows that we participate in. The crowd attention our party booths attract is just amazing!
Question:
Yeah, we've heard your party booths are off the hook. How do you get the large crowds to gather around your booths, how do you get their attention?
DJ:
Thanks, I have to answer that question by giving credit to the team's vision in regards to the modern day auto shows and events. We literally assign members to observe shows as far as what the people like, and what they are most attracted to. We share this information at our meetings, and use it to make our team more effective the next time we participate in that show. Plus it helps that The SPX Candy Girls and our intense team Disc Jockeys really know how to have a good time by interacting with the crowd, and keeping them pumped.
Question:
Do you pay your models and dancing girls?
DJ:
(Laughing again...) you know I heard a rumor that some people actually think we pay our models. Street Pilot X is a membership organization, not a hiring organization. The SPX Candy Girls are members of the Street Pilot X team. They represent the team in the same fashion as our Auto Club members, except they do it within the entertainment department of the team.
Question:
Just curious, Do you ever see copy cats, others stealing your style?
DJ:
We really never take too much time to notice. Those things happen be it intentional or non. Like I said before, as far as we're concerned, we're not in competition with anybody, and we just stay on course and do our own thing. We're focused, and making a name for ourselves on grounds which demand that you stay focused, or you'll fade like yesterday's news! We don't do this for competition. We do it because it's our passion, and it has become our lifestyle. It's almost impossible to be 100% signature in the custom auto world, and custom auto lifestyle. Some just need to realize there's enough room in the custom auto lifestyle for everybody! You just have to make sure what you are doing is effective, marketable, and meeting its purpose.
Question:
Wow that is so true! How does Street Pilot X Feel about the Production companies and Promoters that construct and coordinate the shows that you participate in?
DJ:
You have to give them a HUGE amount of respect for what they do! It's easy to over look the difficult task of coordinating and setting up an auto show. There's a lot of red tape involved, and adjustments that have to be made on the spot! We're often amazed at how they pull these shows off and keep the crowds pumped for more. They are the absolute best at what they do.
Question:
In regards to your Auto Club, Is it difficult to join?
DJ:
I wouldn't say so, but it depends on what the Prospect feels is difficult. I mean we have our rules and regulations just like any other team. We get a lot of e mails in regards to joining our auto club, and we're considering opening Chapters.
Question:
What does Street Pilot X look for, or expect from its members?
DJ:
The biggest word that comes to mind is "Dedication." Not just dedication to the team, but to the custom auto lifestyle itself. We also look for members to learn and advance within their roles on the team. Whether it's customizing their rides, car modeling, or spinning records we look for members to learn and advance within their niche. This is a never ending learning experience, and that is what we love about it most.
Question:
Last but not least... Shout Outs, and acknowledgements, do you have any?
DJ:
To all of the Organizations, Companies, Teams, and Individuals that we have had the HONOR to be associated with. Street Pilot X is forever thankful for your support and true friendship! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!
