Event: Mother Nature Shows Love To Audio Jam

Description: The Guys at Audio knew the 2007 Audio Jam Car Show was going to be one of their best yet. I was talking with Tom and Anthony, two long time employees of Audio Jam earlier in the week before the show. They both were very upbeat seeing that mother nature was going to provide what could be considered a perfect day for an auto show. Well to say the least, mother nature did her part on Saturday , July 23rd and blessed the Audio Jam crew with a golden day of sunshine, and comfortable June temperatures. By 12 noon, the east section of the Governors Square Shopping Center in Bear, Delaware was blanketed with a custom auto scene that would make the car gods smile. The Audio Jam crew rocked the place with competitive, fun contests, a second to none Bikini Contest, and a car show that did not make it easy on the judges. Companies and organizations like Kicker, Street Trenz Magazine, Newark Scion, Street Pilot X , and Sparkling Images loitered the show grounds keeping the spectator eye and cameras busy. Diverse Concepts, Fatal Obsessions, Team Solo, Team RX8, the Street Pilot X Custom Auto Team, and others held down the car club / team element of the show. All of the clubs and crews were on point, setting up their rides and displays to give the Audio Jam Show a hell of a serious look! The two wheel rockets were heavy in numbers showing love as well. Sparkling Images brought out some of the hottest show bikes in the area, as Nick and the GodSpeed Extreme Team hit some of the craziest bike stunts taken in by the human eye! With out question , there are many elements that take part when it comes to having a successful car show. The rides, the people, the music, oh and lets not forget the eye popping , neck breaking beauties. On the Audio Jam occasion , it was Mother Nature that played the biggest part of all. Damn good show fellas...Damn good show!

Event: 07 OC Car Show...Event With It All!

Description: Custom Auto Shows that have a loyal fan , spectator, and participant following can pretty much embrace the fact that they will be around for a very long time. It is safe to say that the people behind Spark Productions can rest assure that their Ocean City Car Shows will have a lifespan that will out last most! Custom auto enthusiasts residing mostly in the states of Delaware, Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York, Maryland, and Virginia all share the same excitement as the month of June approaches. There is the fact that summer time is finally official, and there is the fact that the OC Car Show is about to go down! This year the SPX Media Team took time to really observe the in depth custom auto atmosphere that the OC Car show provides. Spark Productions has built this awesome event to the point of near perfection as far as mixing all different custom auto designing styles and tastes. Amazingly built trailer queens, and out of this world tuned street machines decorate the indoors and the main parking lot of the OC Convention Center. Expensive exotics that sport the brand names of Ferrari , Lamborghini, and Bently set off an auto salon feel that has you thinking black tie affair. Import and Domestic street tuned machines stamp that much needed youth culture effect that still dominates the show. Product vendors give this event that finished look that all car shows and custom auto events should have. Standing out of all this is the people element. Men, women, and children of all ages, race, colors, and religions make up the spectator tribe that walks the isles of this great event. Hey, maybe NASCAR should contact the producers of auto shows like that of OC to get some pointers for their Diversity Program! Without question, the OC Car Show is one of the tops in the minds of those who participate. It is definitely one of our favorites. Thank you Spark Productions for continuing to provide us with the best show on the beach!

Event: Diverse Concepts Show Brings The Heat!

Description: The Sun was not the only thing heating up on the weekend of Saturday , May 26th. There was another resource that kept things sizzling on that day. This resource was a make up of enthusiastic people who owned enthusiastic rides, and they all participated in a car show that was held by an enthusiastic club. The Diverse Concepts crew loitered the Car Version 2 parking lot with some of the hottest rides in the area. Show quality machines that contribute solid styles to the custom auto culture laid out on this hot sunny day for serious viewing pleasure! It was no easy task to pick out a few stand out rides from the custom auto packed Car V2 parking lot. We did get lucky and managed to talk to a few custom car owners in which their dedication can be seen all through out their rides. First, there was Joey T. with his 1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse. This red hot beauty was blessed with a carbon fiber interior, 4-Piece Polyurethane BLITZ Body Kit, and more performance goodies than you can shake a stick at. Ben Nester brought the noise with his slammed 97 Sonoma. Ben made sure not to neglect the power plant. A 355 with comp cams, Keith black pistons, polished intake, and an msd ignition. The ladies did not want to be left out, and came in showing their male counterparts that there is nothing hotter than a woman who handles her own. One of the lead outs in repping the lady element was Jennifer with her wide body 06 Scion TC. A wide body kit, accompanied by 18 inch axis wheels, with a dropped stance gives this Scion a voluptuous look that demands attention. Jennifer rocks the Scion out with five monitors, and two ten inch subs. Custom headers, a down pipe, and an injen intake keeps this sexy Scion in the fast lane! All we can say is if this show measures the Diverse Concepts show future, than the future is looking bright! Special thanks to SPX Media members, Angel, Suteishi, and Jamaal for the photos and data!

Event: Team Falken...Drifting Diversity

Description: As far as selection of rides ,the Team Falken Drift Racing Stable defines the word diversity. Get close and personal with this crew, and you will not want to stop snapping photos. The Falken Team drivers all have their preferred weapons. Taka Aono rolls in the Hachi-Roku also known as the ever popular Toyota AE86. Darren McNamara also choices the 86 as his preferred drifting platform. What the AE86 lacks in horses it surely makes up in set up. It is not rare to see the lower powered 86 take down higher powered rivals on the drifting battle fields. I call it the Wolverine of Drift cars. Small but fearless, and known to beat down much larger opponents. Speaking of BIG horsepower, Vaughn Gitten Jr, pilots the Paxton Supercharged Mustang GT. With 650 horses at the call of his right foot, Vaughn has the asphalt screaming when he takes to the track. His driving style bleeds American Muscle, and you can not help but to pump your fists when Vaughn heats up the track! Also a member of the popular Drift Alliance, Vaughn has the distinguished title of being the first American driver to win a D1GP event. Ross Petty, and Robbi Nishida both went with Nissan as their selected drifting weapons. Ross rips it up with the S13 platform, while Robbie burns it out with an S14. Both Drivers are super competitive and help keep the Falken name highly respected within the drift scene. Team Falken definitely has all bases covered when it comes to placing successful drivers in distinguished, competitive drifting machines!

Event: Yoichi Imamura ...True Dedication!

Description: When we fist read the Drivers list for the D1GP Jersey event, we thought the Yoichi Imamura listing was a misprint. Yoichi has been known for skimming clipping points and wowing crowds in his APEXi Mazda FD3S RX-7. So It was much to our surprise when we saw Yoichi sporting Top Secret colors and piloting the ORC Z33 Nissan Fairlady Z. Even with the extreme beauty of the Fairlady Z, I for one was still a bit skeptical in regards to the obvious change over. I was preferring to see Yoichi laying down some tire smoke in his APEXI RX-7. All skepticism flew out the door when Yoichi came burning down the track taking the Z to the limits! Yoichi was on point during the practice and demo rounds, but a mid day crash in a best 8 run took him out of the game. The crash was huge to say the least. Soft wall foam was thrown everywhere as the crowd went completely ballistic! One would think that this was the end of day for Yoichi and the Top Secret crew. As the drifting competition ended, with Nobushige Kumakubo edging out AE86 driver Toshiki Yoshioka, the Top Secret Team had basically disassembled the injured Z, and put on what we thought was a maintenance demo for the crowd. It was far from a maintenance demo. Later that night the Japanese D1GP drivers wanted to show the crowd their appreciation by putting on an under the lights drift demo that will go down as one of the greatest D1 drift demos of all time. Right before the demo run the D1 Drivers lined up to give media crew members the rides of their lives. As the top Drift Racers in the world lined up, from around the corner came a the signature growl of the ORC Fairlady Z. UN FN BELIEVABLE! The car was just in shambles, being tinkered with in a parking lot! Now it is lining up and ready to rock and roll?! Even D1 management was amazed. Yoichi and his Top Secret crew obviously did not want to leave Jersey without displaying their appreciation to the true drift racing enthusiasts. With the damage done, most others would have called it a day. All I can say is that I have never seen such discipline, and dedication.

Event: Up Close With Team Orange

Description: Nobushige Kumakubo, and Kazuhiro Tanaka make up what can be considered the D1 Grand Prix Golden Team. The only thing is, they prefer to beat their drifting opponents down while sporting Orange. To be specific, two orange Subaru Imprezas cranking 500 plus horses a piece! When it comes to demo drifting you can consider Kumakubo and Tanaka D1GPs greatest tag team. These two drift warriors are fearless to say the least! Both known for their abilities to stick to their opponents like glue in an almost intimidating fashion, Kumakubo and Tanaka also put on the best two car drift demo you will ever want to see! Their signature move is starting at opposite ends of the track and flying toward each other at unbelievable speeds just missing each other while in a full drift! This move drives the crowd nuts! Street Pilot X Media Member Angela got to spin it out with Kumakubo during the media ride along in Englishtown. She considers herself one lucky gal!

Event: Up Close With Ken Nomura

Description: If you are a fan or enthusiast of drifting , the name Ken Nomura is as common as tire changes in between drift sessions. Ken, also known as Nomuken, has been a heavy hitter within D1 Grand Prix since 2001. His driving style and unique personality are his trademarks. A man of small physical stature, that drifts like a giant, Nomuken drops his opponents like flies in his signature Nissan ER34 Skyline. The Blitz sponsored ER34 is a 533hp hell raiser that slides as smooth as silk. Ken has a fan base that is second to none in the world of Drifting. I got a rare chance to ride with Nomuken during a D1GP drift demo, and I am still shouting ONE MORE TIME! The Jersey Drift fans witnessed one of the greatest drift battles ever seen when Nomuken clashed with Mr. Team Orange, Nobushige Kumakubo. The two drifting Icons had everyone on their feet as they displayed some of the best slides ever seen. It was a drift racing semi final battle not soon to be forgotten!

Through our photos and articles, we will do our best to describe all the excitement and fun that went down, but the best way to get the full effect is to makes sure you are there with ticket in hand the next time D1 lands in Jersey.
